A love story with a happy ending in Naperville, Illinois...

Good afternoon!!

As many of you know, my first marriage ended about 8 years ago…

The following years were very difficult for me. I experienced loneliness. Depression. An overwhelming feeling of lost identity…

For many years, I had thought of myself a happily married father of two beautiful girls. But then my life was turned upside down, and I didn’t know who I was or where I was going…

These were dark times for me. Dark indeed…

But then, about 4 years ago, I met someone who changed my life. Her name was Ann Marie…

She was beautiful, smart, funny, and very, very challenging…

I knew from the moment we met she was something special. I still remember the day she first walked into my real estate office. Wow. Her beautiful eyes and flirty (or so I hoped) personality made an impression that has been with me every day since…

After about a year and a half pursuing her romantically, she relented and allowed us a single date…

My plan was to impress her with a fancy dinner. I suggested Hugos, however she declined that and suggested we go out for tater tots (her favorite appetizer) at a local watering hole near my home…

The night went well, and I was on Cloud 9 as I spent the evening with the most beautiful woman I had ever seen…

As we parted, I gave her a kiss, to which she responded “You can kiss me tonight, but not tomorrow.” Perhaps she wasn’t sure of her feelings, but I prefer to think she was playing hard to get…

What followed was a passionate, exciting, and tumultuous year and a half. We moved quickly, perhaps too quickly, and joined our families and businesses right away…

Perhaps a rash decision, but a decision I don’t regret and would do again…

I have learned that life is not perfect, and neither were we. My expectations for us were through the roof, and when life together didn’t turn out like the fairy tale I had imagined, we fell on hard times, and decided to split up…

It was an incredibly hard decision, and the months that followed were very hard as well….

But they were important months. I worked on myself, and so did she. Personally I came to a place where I found some peace in my heart, and learned to love the person I was, faults and all…

And then, one miraculous day last December, Ann Marie reached out to me. We both realized we were better together, and that, despite our flaws, our days together and the love we shared were too important to not experience as a couple and as a family...

So we reunited, as a couple, as a family, and as a business. That reunification is the bright spot in this extremely challenging year…

Our lives this year haven’t been perfect. We have faced our challenges and arguments. But we are in a better place than we have ever been. We understand that life isn’t supposed to be perfect. We now look at the challenges we face as things that will make us stronger, as opposed to barriers which we cannot overcome…

Which brings me to yesterday, September 16th, 2020. A day that will take on special significance for me for the rest of my years…

I am so proud to announce that Ann Marie did me the greatest honor I could imagine…

For last night we got married. It gives me the chills typing the words and my eyes water just thinking of it…

It was a day I had dreamed about for many years. A day at times I never thought would happen…

But it did happen. And it proves to me, that with enough love, patience, acceptance, and sheer will, dreams can come true…
