Oh the weather outside is frightful, but at Starbucks, it's quite delightful.
Here I am again. My favorite seat at my favorite Starbucks. I have my earl grey tea. I have a great spot for people watching. Four male customers (plus me) are currently here. There is a gentlemen to my left that has a laptop (Apple) that he seems to be working on intently. Prospect quality probably low.
But it's early.
It's raining outside. Floodwarning. I did not ask my wife this morning, but I am sure the Nickie Indicator must be very low! It should stay that way through the weekend with more rain and cold weather scheduled here in Naperville, Illinois until Sunday.
A man just opened his umbrella inside. We made eye contact. "I wouldn't do that," I say. "I am glad you are over there."
"It's not contagious," he reassured me.
I'm not so sure.
On the way here, I heard the old Milli Vanilli song, "Girl you know it's true." I don't care if they were lip synching, but their tunes were catchy. But I digress.
A woman I know from another Starbucks just walked in. I haven't seen her in a year or so. She remembered my name. That's cool. Baby picture time.
"Yes, she is beautiful," I say. Meg (my old friend) has to go. Not before I get her email.
That makes 454 emails in my database. And counting.
It's gotten crowded in here. Many people looking for a break from the inclement weather.
Is anyone out there? In Naperville? 42 Jefferson. Stop on down, and I'll buy you a cup of coffee.
It will only cost you an email address.:)
