Can you feel it? I know I can.
I was at a friend's party this weekend. It was his annual Oktoberfest party. Great food, great drink, great people, great time. Anyway...
Many of the attendees come year after year. With some, this is the only time that I see them every year.
When I started in real estate 3 years ago, I would tell people of my exciting career move.
"Really. I was thinking about getting into real estate too," would be a typical response.
I felt like a Johnny-come-lately.
If I asked for referrals...
"The problem is, Ken, there are 5 Realtors living on our street."
My career path certainly did not feel cutting edge.
But I was determined to succeed.
This weekend, attitudes towards Realtors were very different.
I felt like a warrior in the trenches. Heck, I am a warrior. Almost a hero. (apologies to the true heroes out there! :))
Attitudes have changed toward Realtors. People are impressed simply by the fact we are persevering.
This is good.
People are scared out there.
They are attracted to those of us who have looked into the abyss and are still standing.
Closings are scarce. Clients ready and willing to move are few and far between.
But there is honor in survival. In perseverance in the face of long odds.
Be proud.
I am.
