I'll mow your lawn for $25...

I mowed lawns for money when I was a kid.  The money was good.  I was running my own business.  There were actually many similarities to my business today as a real estate agent.

After all these years, I still like mowing lawns.  Good honest work.  Outside.  Exercise.  Sun.  Productive.

Mowing the lawn is good for the soul.

-mowing my backyard in Brookdale, Naperville...

I live in a subdivision in Naperville named Brookdale.  Nice subdivision.  Middle priced by Naperville standards...

As pleasant as Brookdale is, it is not immune to the blight of bank owned properties.

Long grass.  Run down condition.  For Sale Signs....

There is a foreclosure a few doors down from where I live.  The home is for sale.  Slightly overpriced at $274,900, the home would be a nice deal in the $240K range.  Recently rehabbed.  Nice sized rooms.  And a nice neighborhood.

I can see the yard from my front windows.  It stands out from the rest.  Most homes in Brookdale, Naperville are very well kept, but this home is overgrown.  Bad for business...

Certainly bad for my neighborhood.

As a concerned neighbor and a REALTOR, I contacted the agent and offerred to mow the lawn for $25.  My mower.  My gas.

She responded:

Thank you, they have someone already.
