Selling your home? On a tight budget?
Whether you are selling your home or just want your house to look nicer, you can make vast improvements to the appearance, simply by purchasing a few bags of mulch.
-pulling weeds in my front yard
Many homes I see have overgrown garden areas, even near the front door. This is bad. When it comes to real estate, sometimes you CAN judge a book by it's cover.
Although removing weeds is generally unpleasant work, it is worthwhile. So, take some time to clean up the weeds and overgrown areas. Spread a fresh layer of mulch on all of your landscaped areas. It will look great, and will help prevent future weed growth.
-an empty bag of Scott's brand mulch I used on Father's Day...
A typical bag of mulch is priced between $2 and $5. The more expensive brands have more consistent wood chips and durable, vibrant colors. Most brands offer different colors as well, so that you can match the color to your home's personality.
A typical yard might need between 5 and 20 bags of mulch, depending on the size of the yard and amount of landscaped areas...
-taking time from the work to pose for a picture...
After weeding, make sure you spread plenty of mulch. It doesn't pay to skimp. Believe me, I try.
I usually find myself heading back to the store for a few more bags. The more I use, the better it looks.
So, if you are selling your home, make sure you pay some attention to the outside of the house too...
AND, don't forget the mulch!
