Ken's Naperville Real Estate Blog : THE SECRET TO A SUCCESSFUL MARKETING CAMPAIGN

THE SECRET TO A SUCCESSFUL MARKETING CAMPAIGN

Do you want to know the key to any successful marketing campaign?

It's not about the marketing...

It's about the campaign.  So stop wasting time!

I don't care what type of marketing you are doing.  Over time, it all works...

Calendars, magnets, post cards, pens, brochures, newsletters, recipes.  All of it...

I joke with my wife that I could hand out big sheets of paper with my face and phone number.  If I hand out out enough of them, people will start to call...

So you have to focus on the campaign first:

  • How long?  Marketing takes time.  Realistically, you won't see results for some time.  It can take a year or longer.  But once it does start working, you won't want to stop...

  • Where?  Pick a neighborhood.  I like townhome communities.  They have a higher turnover ratio than single family homes.  Once you choose one, stick with it.  Remember, this takes time...

  • How many homes should I market to?  This is a budget issue.  I recommend you start small.  You don't want to overextend.  This is a marathon.  Not a sprint...

So pick a neighborhood.  Start marketing.  It works...

Hi Ken-  I liked your photographic progression!  Marketing campaigns are so personal - but if you don't do it, it won't work! --Sara

Hey You, I love how you simplified the process.  Simple post yet to the point.

You can relate to blogging the same way. "Realistically, you won't see results for some time.  It can take a year or longer.  But once it does start working, you won't want to stop..."

Hi Jenny, Heather, and Don.  Thanks for stopping in.

Jenny, you can relate this to blogging.  All types of marketing.

Better to do poorly, than not do at all...

Heather, I do a little of all types of marketing.  I can't afford to miss anything!

Thanks again,

Ken

Hi Ken... Great insight when you mention that "This is a marathon. Not a sprint...".  Many agents, especially new ones, lose sight of that fact.

It's kind of like buying a lottery ticket.  If you don't buy one, you can't win.

Find the plan...work the plan...don't give up.

Many things work, but you have to keep at it.

Go Ken. You are faithful in your walking campaign.

Hi Missy, Megan, Joel, Shirley, and Steve.  Thanks for stopping in.

Great point Missy.  Not everyone needs to hang flyers...

But marketing works.  Takes time.

Megan, you will start seeing results.  It will start slow.  Someone will call.  The calls get more serious, and then you become the expert...

Thanks again everyone,

Ken
