Ken's Naperville Real Estate Blog : SHOWING HOMES IN THE RAIN...

The sky was dark.  The air wet.

It was Saturday morning, and I was showing homes.

Showing homes in the rain...

Free picture of a rainy day

The raindrops pelted my windshield as I started my car...

"Whir, whir, whir" went the wiper blades as I backed out of the driveway.

The weather matched my enthusiasm this morning.  I don't know why...

Perhaps the up and down world of real estate...

The last few months have been hectic.

First, the excitement of the expiring tax credit...

Frantic buyer and seller activity.

Buyers hoping to find that perfect home in time...

Sellers desperate to find a seller while the "carrot" of the tax credit was available.

Then, a pullback in activity...

Showings down.  Few buyers.  Fewer contracts.  Anxious sellers...

The life of a real estate agent.  Showing homes in the rain today...

Tomorrow is another day.  There is more work to do...

And the forecast is for sun.

I cannot believed you showed houses in the rain - dedication.  On the other hand, rainy weather is a great time to look for leaks and flood areas of the yard.

Hi Aaron.  Thanks for reading.

Not that great of dedication, the appointments were already made...

But the weather did match my mood.

Tommorrow is another day!

Ken, we are going into our season of showing homes when it is 110 degrees here in Mesa AZ. But I will be there in Illinois in August for my Mom's birthday so could you order some nice weather. Not too humid, please.

I usually don't have much luck showing houses when it's raining. I hope that you had better fortune!

I guess the good thing about the rain is you can see if the basement leaks.

Ken If they were looking in the rain then I would consider them serious home buyers.

I love showing homes in the rain - perfect to see if the roof is leaking, the basement is flooding, the front lawn is a pond...

Ken..."Just singing in the Rain" what a great song for your situation. Hope that you did sing it to your clients. LOL
Now, to serious rain items..did your area experience any bad effects from this latest spat of 'weather'?

Hope this season treats you a tad better from now on; though here in MI this is our late Spring-early June tornado-time. I taught in Illinois-closer to Indiana- in South Holland, I don't know where you are in relationship
to that area. Best wishes are sent your way either way.

No bad effects.  Showings are off this month...

Singing in the rain...:)

Thanks again!

What a riviting tale, showing property in the rain that just keeps pouring down.  Hopefully your sun finally came out!
