Ken's Naperville Real Estate Blog : Live Life With Open Doors...

Live Life With Open Doors...

I enjoy coming to the office on the weekends.  A real estate office is a surprisingly quiet place on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon...

Perhaps it is the season.  Perhaps other agents are out busy showing homes.  Either way, the office is often very quiet...

A lonely scooter at a real estate office-My scooter on a recent Sunday afternoon at my office...

I am not generally one that likes solitude.  I am happiest with others around, conversation, and positive energy.

That being said, a quiet Saturday or Sunday afternoon allows me to do something not normally done at most offices...

I open the doors wide open!

Keller Williams Infintiy on a Sunday afternoon-On this particular Sunday, the office doors were wide open...

On this Sunday afternoon, the building was quiet.  A few individuals trickled in and out of the lobby.  I waved at a few, said "Hi!" to a few more.  No walk ins.  Not on this day.

But it felt great to have the doors open wide!  Open.  Ready for action.  Welcoming...

I try and live my life that way too.  Many people shut doors, blinds, and windows, hoping to keep the world out.  Afraid of getting hurt...

I prefer letting the world in.  Oh yes, sometimes it hurts.  But that is part of living.

And I would prefer to live life with open doors...

I love living life with the doors wide open.  Thanks for reminding me.  They have been shut now for a month..

Time to open them back up.

Great thoughts here, Ken.  I like a blend of the two, but it is always about putting others first!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving from down in Lafayette.

Ken -very nice analogy...just think of what we might miss if we went through life with our doors closed to the outside.

I, too, am here from Kathy Strieb's post - I'm so glad she pointed it out!  Isn't life grand when we're "open" to it?

Love the attitiude. I used to get to work by 7 a.m. when i worked in a busy real estate office, while others started arriving around 8:30. I got more done in that first hour and a half alone than the entire rest of the day, being alone. It's about finding what works for you.

I live like that to some extent but being a single female, I have to be cautious sometimes, too.

Ken:

We, at my office, always open the front door.  We get a lot of foot traffic because we are half a block away from the main business district in my community.  So we open the door.

Ken, I came to read this post from Kathy Streib's post and glad I did! Great anology! Open all the doors and windows and let the air in and sun in! At times, it may get a little chilly inside, when it does, you could simply shut all the doors and windows!

Hi Beth and Evelyn.  Thanks so much for stopping in!  Glad you liked the post...

I always open blinds and windows (when weather permits).  Love fresh air...

Love when clients stroll in too!

Thanks again!
