Faith, hope, and optimism in Naperville...

Good morning!

I woke this morning thinking of optimism…

Where does it come from?

Why do some people look at the world in a glass half full sort of way, while others always seem to see life with the glass half empty?

Why are some people dreamers, while others are “realists”?

A friend texted me just last night, asking “How are you? How do you stay so positive all the time?! 😊😀

Hmmm. Good question…

My first thought was that I don’t stay positive all of the time. Ask those that know me…

I struggle with doubts and fears like everyone else. I have suffered sleepless nights. I can “worry” with the best of them…

But in general, I agree with my friend. I do have a positive attitude…

An undying belief in myself and in the goodness in the world…

Almost a delusional belief. A belief that despite of all the evidence in front of me, that things will turn out ok…

A belief that can get me into tough spots from time to time. A belief that has me occasionally living life on the edge. Pushing things to the limit. Taking risks that others probably wouldn't...

And you know what? Things do turn out ok...

Life goes on. There is goodness in the world. The sun rises every morning, and so do I...

How do I stay so positive?  I think they call it faith...

Have an awesome day!

Ken

Good morning Ken. Even the realists have to dream sometimes. Stay positive. Enjoy your day!

Hello Ken - we have a choice each day.  Choose positive or something else.  I am not a betting person but I figure my chances for happiness, a better outlook and better interaction with people is better when I am positive.  Why not?

I like your attitude, Ken. We can't control what happens, but we can control how we choose to respond.

Honestly, Ken, I don't know how people without faith survive. Maybe that's why there is so much depression and even suicide in the world. They don't have faith that things will turn out ok.   All things work for the good for those who believe.

Love this. When you focus on the good, the good gets better.
