Ken's Naperville Real Estate Blog : STOP BASHING OBAMA, FOX NEWS!

STOP BASHING OBAMA, FOX NEWS!

How do they get away with calling Fox News news?

I think the channel is dangerous.  They don't run a "news" story without bashing Obama...

And he hasn't even been in office two months...

I consider myself a slightly right of center independent.  I voted for Ron Paul in the primaries,  and for Barack Obama in Novemeber.

I do believe in small government, so I don't like much of the spending in Obama's budget...

But he is not the reason the stock market has been cut in half...

Our economy is facing serious problems.

Houses are selling 30% from their peaks just three years ago.

There is no easy answer...

But bashing our President every "news" story certainly isn't going to help.

Hi Ken... I guess that you don't think that Fox is very "fair and balanced"!

Posted by Steve Shatsky over 8 years ago

It is only a balance to MSNBC...talk about an extreme love fest!

Hi Scott, Gary, and Steve.  Thanks for reading.

I definitely do not think it is fair and balanced.

I watch from time to time...

But please.

Thanks again,

You know what?  Harry S Truman said, "The buck stops here".  When the President ran for office he knew that every problem, (including the stock market, housing, wars, health care, etc. etc. etc.) would be his and his to be blamed for.  I remember CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, and even Fox News (to a much less level than the others) blaming Bush for everything including Global Warming, (Hasn't that been going on ever since the US became industrialized?).  So, whatever news agency that reports bad or good will do so in a free nation and doing anything else will lessen freedom of speech (good or bad, negative or positive).  In other words, if the President and followers are concerned about the bad news, then he shouldn't have got into the mix because we do live in the US and it is free.

I wouldn't want Obama's job for anything in the world.  As President you can't do anything right no matter what you do.  It isn't just FOX news though.  I've seen Obama get plenty a bashing on CNN and MSNBC too.

I don't agree with everything he is doing and wish he was doing some things he was not, but I agree, he has not even been on office 100 days yet and is facing two wars and an economic crisis like we have not seen since the 1930's.  Time will of course tell, but I think he is doing an excellent job   trying to stem the huge tide of absolutely horrible economic events.  The stimulus package is facing an unstimulus package from most state governments cutting back their budgets plus private businesses are cutting back at a furious rate.  I wish him (and us) all the luck in the world.

I may have more hope and faith in him if he didn't fall away from a campaign promise everytime he invokes a new program.

Hi Ken,

It's not just Fox.  Washington has become a city where bashing is a sport.  A city where confrontation gets more attention than effective communication.  It's not healthy for our country.  There are some days I think it would be better if we could just shut DC down.  :)

Have a great weekend!

Ken - Fox News is a joke.  I won't give them even a nanosecond of my time.  Thanks Ken.  We're on the same page.

Hey Ken - when a political discussion is started, out come the opinions. :-)  I was an exclusive CNN junkie. I thought the world, as reported by CNN, was the Truth (with a capital T). About 3 months ago I FIRST learned that Mexico had a drug lord problem along with very instable borders along our southern states - and it wasn't CNN that told me that. Now I watch/listen to Fox News to get another side of the story.

Bottom line:  Networks from both sides need to stop politicizing our news.  We all deserve better.

Posted by Ryan Moehring (Independent) over 8 years ago

Hi Ken - The same could be said for MSNBC's viewpoint of Republicans. It's too bad that some of these networks lean so far left or right. The American people deserve and need fair, unbiased coverage of the issues so that we can all work together to move the economy and country forward.

I'm with you Ken.  The station is a bad joke. I am unable to stomach it.  And no MSNBC is not the equivalent by a long stretch. MSNBC has a much better claim on "fair and balanced" than FIX.

Why are you surprised?  I haven't watched Fox much at all lately since I am sick of politics, but the networks, CNN, and BSNBC made it a mission to bash Bush.  So what's new?   MSNBC fair and balanced?  That's laughable.

Ken, Right now I think Fox news is the only thing that stands in the way of the total collapse of the country that Obama seems to want.

2000 news is not like 1970 news.  I'm not a journalism graduate, but it's hard to call any of this news.  It is really hard to find an unbias news source.  Is there one?

What happened to reporting the facts without using adjectives that show how the person reading the news feels?

It's entertainment disguised as the news.  The radio stations started it.  They could take hours to report the news because they comment and joke about every story.  I accept that because its entertainment.  But it would be nice to watch someone report the news efficiently.

Posted by Rich over 8 years ago

Ken,

What other amendments do you oppose?  I won't comment on any of the networks but I know they all have a right to say what they want and we have a right to vote with our remote control and I excercise that right when I do waste time in front of the television.

You are right that BO didn't cut the market in half but I encourage you to research the actions of the federal government.  The recent actions of our elected government could lead us right into catastrophe.

The  best thing our politicans could have done was NOTHING!  This would have been preferable to anything that they have done to date.  Their promises to do more will continue us in the wrong direction.  When you get a fever you don't hire a heart specialist and pay for open heart surgery.  The same could be said for the US economy.  It was a bad fever started by politicians years ago and we need to sweat it out.  Yes, it will be terribly painful but good things will happen.

Did you know that the current savings rate by Americans is at a 20 year high?  This negatively impacts retail stores but positively impacts those that are changing their spending habits and saving for a better tomorrow.

There is a better day coming and Fox News, CNN, et al won't get us there but people like you rolling up your sleeves and focusing on the things you can control will get us there.

Hi Ken!
It always floors me when the news contacts us for a story.  It goes something like this...we are writing a story about how the market is all about being near the river.  Could we interview you to show why this is true?  I say...well, it really isn't.  They say...yea...but there must be something you can say that will sound like it is true!  It drive me nuts!

Hi Ken -

It's a sad commentary that no matter who is President, they are bashed by the media.  While travelling in China a couple of years ago, I found it interesting that the only U.S. TV we saw was CNN & Saturday Night Live.  Both consistently air our "dirty laundry" for the world to see.  I'm on a media fast.  I'm just sick to death of it.  I'm not an Obama fan and didn't vote for him, but he is our President and deserves some respect for taking on the job when not only our country, but the world economy is in a tailspin.

Just my two cents IMHO,

Yeah because none of the stations ever bashed President Bush.

I'm sorry, I don't see Fox News bashing Obama.  I see the opinion commentators bashing his policies, but not the news portion.

Just like a newspaper has a main news section and an editorial page, Fox News, CNN and MSNBC have news and opinion commentators.  Hannity, Begala, Oberman are not news reporters, they commentate on previously reported news.  It is your job as an educated citizen to determine the difference and seek both sides of the issues.

Does MSNBC commentators lean liberal and Fox News commentators lean conservative?  You bet, they are providing media balance.  But, I can not say the newsreported by Fox News is bashing Obama.

I do agree that we have never seen, nor will for a long time, see the bashing GW took.

Posted by Joe Burns (Vanguard Properties) over 8 years ago

It's interesting you're concerned about BO bashing. Where were you during the previous administration? Where were the cries about the mockery of Sarah Palin. Maybe she was an easy target but she is also an elected official with approval ratings much higher than the media the made fun of her. If you want to complain, then you need to complain about both sides. By the way, I've heard Sean Hannity and Bill O'Rielly come down hard on Republicans too. I find the movie star coverage of the Obamas juvenile. I'm glad someone is telling the other side of the story. For instance, George Bush was trashed over the deficit and now an even larger deficit is just what the doctor ordered. This seems to be the era of the double standard.

I don't know why George Bush bashing is relevant here.

You're correct Ken, it doesn't make it right to ever bash a president.   I think the GW relevance is to show that is now expected.  He has been in office for 6 weeks, but in the limelight for 2 yrs and in the role for 6mos.  The media has also condensed our timeframes.  Good post, any thing that rattles Pandora is good.

I received this in an email from one of my best friends today:

"our Socialist President Barack Hussein catches wind of this....he will shut it down too"...

I just think it is so silly.

I watch Fox.  I have been shocked how negative it is on Obama.  Disappointed.

Thanks Joe.

Seems the best and most relied upon challenge FOX can come up with is attacking their Presidents given name. Takes you back to the school yard where the best an idiot could do was pick on a name and try to be a bully. Guess they all grew up and got jobs at FOX news.

For those with glazed over eyeballs have a look at this post.
